Job Summary
- This role is responsible for leading a team of senior-level individual contributors and managers, overseeing programs aimed at driving strategic procurement projects, and leading the development and delivery of complex initiatives with a global impact. The role manages demand and supply matching activities at a strategic level, ensuring key business metrics are met. The role engages with senior stakeholders to influence supply chain strategic development and partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic initiatives. The role addresses complex business and technical challenges and leads teams in conducting in-depth risk analyses and formulating effective mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct and ongoing leadership to a team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and managers to coordinate, manage, and lead strategic procurement related projects for a highly complex category or business unit.
- Holds accountability for results of a major category, supply chain, product line or program in terms of strategy and cost savings, and ensures that performance meets global and regional planning requirements.
- Plans, directs and monitors high end operational/tactical activities of staff with primary focus on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues.
- Manages the demand and supply matching activities from a strategic level, ensuring that businesses are achieving the key business metrics.
- Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives that can impact the supply chain globally, involving engagement in cross-functional collaboration across organizational hierarchies, functions, and geographical regions to realize procurement objectives.
- Acts as a key advisor to senior business executives on the development of overall strategies and long term goals of the organization, and partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic development and relationship building.
- Creates new operational efficiencies and cost savings within the supply chain on a broad scale using process improvement and policy development.
- Applies industry and subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established framework.
- Leads teams to produce in-depth risk analyses, formulates effective mitigation strategies for projects, vendor relationships, and contracts, and accordingly establishes and refines procurement processes and procedures.
- Performs the responsibilities of hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development, while ensuring that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
