A pivotal leadership role in our Treasury Finance team, delivering critical support functions and driving operational excellence across financial and product control, hedge accounting, and securitisation.
Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Treasury Finance, as Senior Manager Treasury Finance you will lead a team of seven highly skilled professionals, ensuring robust financial and product controls across traded and non-traded risk portfolios. You’ll be the subject matter expert for Financial Control, Product Control, Hedge Accounting under IFRS 9, and Securitisation Services.
This role is central to embedding best-in-class practices, driving continuous improvement, and strengthening governance across Treasury Finance. You’ll collaborate with Treasury, Market Risk, Finance, Enterprise Technology Services, and Group colleagues, as well as engage with regulators when required.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead and enhance daily P&L reporting, automate Treasury disclosures, and deliver insights that inform strategic decisions and benchmark against industry best practice.
Establish and maintain a governance framework for accurate, timely reporting that meets regulatory requirements and supports risk management.
Drive improvements in reporting design, reconciliations, and analytical review, ensuring compliance with data protection and audit standards.
Maintain and document current and future-state structures, conduct gap analyses, and provide impact assessments for Treasury Finance.
Support planning and forecasting for funding, liquidity, and ALM activities, applying advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
Inspire and develop a high-performing team, championing change management and cultural alignment with Westpac’s values.
Lead with risk awareness, operational excellence, and collaboration across the business.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting; CA, CPA, or CFA qualification preferred.
10+ years’ relevant experience in a similar level role.
Proven ability in financial analysis, reporting, and modelling, with advanced Excel and analytical tool proficiency.
Deep understanding of Treasury Finance Accounting principles, including hedging instruments under IFRS 9 and Treasury/Financial Markets products.
Strong grasp of macroeconomic drivers and their impact on banking performance.
Experience with liquidity regulations (BS13, APS210) and risk measurement techniques (VaR, stress testing) advantageous.
Skilled in scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling.
Ability to clearly articulate complex issues to senior stakeholders under time-sensitive conditions.
