Job Summary
Responsible for leading the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of digital product taxonomy and data quality standards to ensure accurate, scalable, and trustworthy information across online platforms. Partners cross‑functionally to optimize data structures, maintain integrity, and enable seamless digital experiences powered by high‑quality, well‑governed data.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Lead taxonomy expansion to support new industry verticals and evolving business needs.
Own the evolution and maintenance of product taxonomy and attribute schema, including classification logic.
Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and industry experts to optimize taxonomy and represent taxonomy and governance requirements in internal and external meetings.
Define, implement, and enforce data governance policies across taxonomy, attributes, normalization, and classification.
Develop and maintain documentation such as data standards, metadata rules, and governance playbooks.
Conduct regular data integrity audits and system health checks for product content platforms.
Establishes, implements, and maintains data quality policies, including frameworks and procedures. Designs and manages data quality standards, metrics, monitoring, and auditing processes for the product content platform.
Design and manage data quality standards, metrics, monitoring, and auditing processes. Lead resolution of data quality issues and ensure compliance with data regulations and standards.
Write and execute advanced SQL queries for auditing, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Leverage Python and SQL for automation, enrichment, and content transformation.
Supports scalable backend logic, validations, and QA workflows for taxonomy updates and product content rule changes.
Partners with product content, engineering, supplier data teams, and business stakeholders to improve data quality, attribute coverage, and classification accuracy.
Represent taxonomy and governance requirements in internal and external meetings. Enable members/users by analyzing data gaps and aligning SKU build strategies.
Develops and continually assesses work processes to identify opportunities to automate, minimize error and maximize productivity. Develops tools to monitor for compliance with standards.
Develop strategies to ensure teams are efficiently input and analyze data received from external sources.
Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams to ensure effective performance. Works with the team to determine the root cause.

Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in data governance, Digital product taxonomy, Data quality management, Scalable data systems, or PIM (product information Management) platforms.
Knowledge of taxonomy development, metadata standards, and data quality practices required.
Experience with PIM systems (e.g., Enterworks preferred), content syndication, and product content workflows required.
SQL proficiency and familiarity with Python for data analysis and automation are a plus.
