Position Summary...
Are you passionate about driving sustainability and making a significant impact? As a Sr. Manager, Strategic Initiatives at Walmart, you’ll lead key initiatives in Private Brands, Global Sourcing, and Merchandising to develop and embed environmentally sustainable packaging strategies. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with executive leaders and leverage Walmart’s resources to create meaningful change.
What you'll do...
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies that align with Walmart's business objectives and values.
- Collaborate with merchants and suppliers to integrate sustainable practices into the supply chain.
- Identify and assess sustainability risks and opportunities in packaging and develop strategies to address them.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to embed sustainable packaging into business processes across merchandising, sourcing, supply chain, and finance.
- Develop business cases for sustainable packaging and alternatives, including extended producer responsibility and future regulatory changes.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) in packaging to measure the success of sustainability initiatives, including Project Gigaton.
What You’ll Bring - Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes related to sustainability and plastics and packaging.
- Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies within a large matrixed and relationship-based organization.
- Innovative Mindset: A passion for staying at the forefront of industry trends, a natural curiosity for "what's next," and the ability to translate future-forward concepts into tangible solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to use financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis to make business decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and drive change management.
- Proven ability to identify sustainability risks and opportunities and develop effective strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating sustainability initiatives to stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

4 years’ experience managing project teams in a matrix environment.
