Legal and Group Secretariat is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to CBA’s external and internal legal risk management and corporate governance.
Your team
The SpeakUP team works alongside the Accountability Regime Team (ART) to support CBA’s strategy by building customer trust in CBA through promoting accountability and upholding integrity.
The SpeakUP team and ART are part of Legal and Group Secretariat. The SpeakUP team ensures there are safe channels and formal processes in place that enable CBA’s people and external partners to speak up about their concerns. SpeakUP also supports and enables CBA’s compliance with the statutory corporate whistleblower regime.
Your impact and contribution
You will report to the Executive Manager SpeakUP Program. You will be responsible for contributing to the operation of CBA’s SpeakUP Program.
On any given day you will
Manage reports made to CBA’s SpeakUP channels, including:
assessing their eligibility to be considered as whistleblower disclosures under the CBA Group Whistleblower Policy and the whistleblowing provisions of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth);
referring reports to an appropriate team for management / investigation; and
communicating with reporters and senior stakeholders.
Analyse data and prepare reports for CBA Committees, senior leaders and other stakeholders.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of whistleblower investigations to ensure investigations are completed in line with policy and procedural requirements.
Manage the SpeakUP Program’s case management system (CMS), including
testing after material updates or changes to the system;
implementation of customised changes; and
escalation of risks and issues, including service failure or degradation.
Undertake administrative tasks for the SpeakUP Program, including in relation to training and communications.
Assist with the maintenance of the CBA Group Whistleblower Policy and Procedure, and management of Group subsidiaries’ whistleblower policies.
Participate in the ART and SpeakUP team strategy.
Contribute to an engaged and inclusive culture within ART and the SpeakUP team, and Legal and Group Secretariat more broadly.
Your experience looks like
Tertiary qualifications in investigations, legal, risk, compliance or another relevant field (preferred).
5+ years’ experience in whistleblower program, investigation, legal, risk, compliance or similar roles.
Knowledge of, and practical experience working within, Australia’s corporate statutory whistleblower regime, will be highly regarded.
Skilled at interpreting and applying legislation, regulatory guidance and policies.
Demonstrated data analytics capability, with strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint (both essential) and Power BI (preferred) to analyse data, identify trends, and produce clear, insightful reports and dashboards.
Demonstrated ability to make well-informed and considered judgements on complex matters.
Proven management of technology systems (CMS experience preferred).
Demonstrated emotional intelligence and an ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with care and respect.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and competing priorities.
