What you'll be doing

As a Senior Manager, Retail Credit Risk on the Client Credit Risk Analytics team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and integrity of CIBC's adjudication systems, including CASA and Compass. You'll provide leadership and strategic direction for credit risk management initiatives, working closely with partners in analytics, quality assurance, technology, and product process teams. Your expertise will help drive the successful implementation and ongoing management of credit risk platforms, supporting robust controls and regulatory compliance, including OSFI reporting. You'll leverage your technical skills to oversee system functionality, analyze data, and support projects and changes related to retail lending and credit cards. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll help sustain a resilient and innovative credit risk management environment.

How you'll succeed

  • Technical expertise - Provide credit risk management leadership and strategic direction related to adjudication projects and initiatives.    Develop and support credit risk requirements and ensure the successful implementation of new systems & platforms for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a robust credit risk management infrastructure.

  • Risk Management & Analytics – Cooperate and collaborate with partners to collectively manage the overall risk profile and control framework through development and maintenance of risk platforms.  Use data-driven processes to effective lead and manage system implementations and changes

  • Innovation and Change Management – Exercise strategic vision and act as a change agent for Risk Analytics and Credit Decisioning through innovative and creative thinking, leading change required to optimize effectiveness and achieve stated objective

  • Relationship Management and Collaboration - Build and maintain ongoing partnerships with key partners across Risk, Product, and Technology, Marketing and Operations. Work closely with various teams towards a common goal and coordinate risk activities as required.

Who you are

  • You have deep technical expertise. You’re proficient in SQL, Databricks, and Excel, with additional experience in PowerBI, Python, or Tableau considered an asset.

  • You’re an experienced risk manager. You bring 5+ years of experience in retail lending and credit card adjudication, credit risk management, and portfolio performance strategies.

  • You understand systems and platforms. Knowledge of adjudication systems such as Provenir, CASA, Compass, Decision Manager, or Triad is an asset.

  • You have a strong educational background. You have a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Lean Six Sigma and Project Management certifications are nice to have.

  • You’re analytical and detail-oriented. You excel at conceptualizing, researching, and translating analytical findings into actionable recommendations.

  • You embrace and champion change. You continuously adapt and innovate to optimize effectiveness and achieve objectives.
