About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for Quality Assurance, Security & Compliance, and Architecture. This role requires a strong technical leader who is an Agile/Scrum Program Manager, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, secure, and compliant products within the HR, Legal and Compliance D&T Portfolio. You will work closely with Product Managers to deliver solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
You will join our Corporate Functions Technology team, reporting directly to the Head of tech for HR Systems & Products.

About the role
The Senior Manager Product Engineering within the Corporate Functions Applications / HR, Legal & Compliance Systems team, which is part of the D&T organization, closely with Product Managers to manage demand, deliver solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

About the Role
Requirements & Documentation Management
Lead the gathering, analysis, and prioritization of business and technical requirements from diverse stakeholders, ensuring clarity and traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Maintain comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, security, compliance, and operational processes, ensuring accessibility and audit readiness.
Demand & Program Delivery Management
Oversee and prioritize incoming requests and requirements across engineering teams.
Balance resources and capacity planning to meet product and business objectives.
Act as a Scrum/Agile Program Manager, driving sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery timelines.
Collaborate with Product Managers to manage demand effectively and avoid delivery bottlenecks.
Manage program scope, timelines, and resources, ensuring delivery against agreed milestones and budgets.
Ensure alignment between engineering execution and product roadmap.
Technical & Compliance Oversight
Oversee architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
Drive compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOx).
Champion quality assurance processes and automated testing strategies.
SOx oversight for the capability: ensuring we comply with SOx requirements by embedding robust control frameworks into product operations – this may span designing and implementing controls to overseeing training, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. This SOx Compliance ensures our financial reporting applications are secure, reliable, and auditable - minimizing risk and supporting regulatory integrity.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner closely with Product Managers to define requirements and deliver customer-centric solutions.
Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
Align engineering priorities with business objectives.
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including performance monitoring and escalation of service issues.
Qualifications & Skills Essential
14+ years of experience in working in an agile methodology with teams and stakeholders across a global environment. In addition, a strong business analysis skill set is required to be able to identify and assess value to prioritise delivery in line with the business needs.
Proven experience managing quality, security, compliance, and architecture teams.
Proficiency in project management methodologies, team leadership, and agile practices is important. This includes skills in resource allocation, risk management, timeline planning, and ensuring the team's productivity and efficiency to meet business objectives.
Experience in HR SaaS or enterprise product development.
Preferred Skills
Significant experience successfully delivering complex projects to a high standard and within short timeframes. Desirable recent examples of delivery of data or technology products/projects
Desirable experience working with remote teams, based offshore.
Experience in prioritising a product backlog based on a variety of inputs, including business need, architectural complexity, skills availability etc. •Desirable experience working with Jira to manage product backlogs.
Desirable experience working with key product artefacts to support user research, articulate and assess value including, User Personas, User Journeys, Leading and Lagging Metrics, and calculating the Cost of Delay etc.
