Senior Manager, Procurement Sourcing Solution Desk

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Sourcing Solutions Desk, this position is responsible for leading a team of three who provides (i) support across RBC for high volume sourcing engagement activity that are typically low complexity and of lower spend threshold; (ii) support the broader Global Procurement organization with Sourcing events managed through the enterprise Procurement platform.

Central to roles is the opportunity to act as coach and mentor to our team of sourcing analysts who are building their sourcing acumen and capabilities. This role provides the opportunity to constantly optimize and deliver efficiency in our competitive sourcing process including the development of new procedures to improve self-service options and user experience.

The ideal candidate will leading by example and build a team of master procurement professionals with the ability to quickly adapt to any circumstance.

What will you do?

  • Coaching and People Leadership: Actively coach and develop your team on a daily basis to ensure they are continuously growing, while meeting the needs of our clients
  • Sourcing Execution and Negotiation: Negotiate supplier agreements, supports procurement and business partner teams in managing supplier agreements and relationships and leads the drafting and contract amendment process to existing and new contract files as necessary.
  • Workload Prioritization: Review incoming requests and managing the capacity of team
  • Competitive Sourcing Support: Provide oversight, monitoring and guidance to the analysts who actively supporting the execution of Sourcing Events (RFX/RFP/RFI) to ensure best practices
  • Relationship Management: Build effective and strong relationships with key Procurement team members and across our globally matrixed Business Partner community by understanding key needs and dynamics across different stakeholder groups, decision makers and influencers.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong Business acumen with proven ability to drive change  
  • 7+ years’ experience in global procurement, sourcing and relationship management
  • Formal People leadership/management experience 
  • Understanding of procurement law and/or regulations
  • Superb written and oral communication skills

Nice-to-have 

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Supply Chain
  • Familiarity with Procurement Sourcing solutions (including Ivalua and Coupa)
