DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Manager, PPI Business System – SG&A Digital & Finance is a strategic leader responsible for accelerating Digital Productivity and strengthening the PPI Business System across AIG SG&A and Finance functions.
This role owns and champions the AIG $32M Digital Productivity commitment, drives validated EBITA impact, and integrates Lean Management Systems with AI, automation, and analytics to deliver measurable financial outcomes.
Operating at near-Director level, this leader drives strategy deployment (X-Matrix), productivity governance, KPI leadership, and enterprise digital transformation aligned to the 2026 AIG PPI Goal Tree and EBITA expansion objectives.
In this capacity, the Sr. Manager works closely with business leadership and steering committees to establish and mature the Lean Management System (including tiered daily management, Gemba walks, and leader standard work) and to leverage coaching tools that facilitate cultural transformation embracing digital technologies to expand current capabilities.
Digital Strategic Leadership & Transformation
- Lead and deliver $32M in validated Digital Productivity with full ROI validation and Finance traceability. (Build, prioritize, and manage a 125%+ healthy digital productivity funnel).
- Define and execute the Digital PPI roadmap across AIG SG&A and Finance.
- Identify, size, and launch AI, automation, and analytics initiatives tied to EBITA and working capital impact.
- Lead annual Strategy Deployment (X-Matrix) process and align Annual Improvement Priorities (AIPs) to named executive sponsors and financial outcomes.
- Represent Digital Productivity in AIG governance forums and drive corrective action when performance gaps arise.
- Partner with IT, Finance, and divisional leadership to accelerate digital maturity across the enterprise.
Operational Excellence & Digital Enablement
- Lead complex, cross-functional improvement projects that deliver measurable results in cost, quality, delivery, and employee engagement.
- Implement Tiered Daily Management and Leader Standard Work in non-operational environments. Establish KPI architecture with ≥75% green performance and ≥25% leading indicators.
- Standardize and deploy digital performance management systems to enhance visibility, accountability, and data-driven problem solving.
- Deploy corporate productivity tracking tools and standardize monthly governance cadence (MBR/QBR/SBR).
- Partner with IT, Finance, and Operations to accelerate digital maturity and establish scalable process excellence standards.
- Enforce productivity policy compliance and standardize digital value validation methodology.
Capability Building & Coaching
- Develop organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, and certification in Lean, Digital PPI, and structured problem-solving.
- Coach Finance and functional leaders in structured problem solving (A3, RCA, SPC).
- Facilitate high-impact Kaizen and Strategy Deployment sessions.
- Build a network of Digital PPI leaders and practitioners across functions and geographies to sustain continuous improvement momentum.
- Facilitate high-impact Kaizen and strategy deployment sessions that drive alignment and execution excellence.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Passion for driving improvement and leading change in a complex, global environment
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into operational and digital improvement initiatives.
- Deep understanding of Lean methodologies, problem-solving frameworks, and digital enablers. Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong financial acumen; translate initiatives into EBITA, margin, and cash flow impact.
- Deep expertise in Lean methodologies, Strategy Deployment, and Productivity Funnel governance.
- Demonstrated experience integrating digital tools, automation, analytics, and AI into business systems.
- Ability to influence Divisional CFOs, VPs, and senior leaders without direct authority. Embodies Thermo Fisher’s 4i Values — Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement — in all interactions and decisions.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering Science, or related field required.
· Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.
· 10–12+ years of progressive experience in Lean, PPI, Operational Excellence, Finance transformation, or Digital Transformation within a global environment.
· Proven record of implementing enterprise-level improvement systems (e.g., PPI, TPS, Six Sigma, or Business System equivalents).
· Demonstrated success in driving digital enablement through process automation, data analytics, or AI-driven insights.
· Experience leading diverse, cross-functional teams with influence across senior leadership levels.
· Green or Black Belt certification preferred; Master Black Belt or equivalent strongly preferred.
· SG&A / Finance transformation experience strongly preferred.
· Plant or operational leadership experience a plus.
