Senior Manager, People Risk Reporting & Analytics

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? 
This role is within the newly formed People Risk and Regulatory Compliance Oversight 2nd Line of Defense team within Human Resources, this role is accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of a data-driven comprehensive risk reporting framework to effectively monitor and report on the People Risk profile for the enterprise. This includes risk reporting required in support of the Functions Compliance Oversight program (FCOP) specific to the HR global function.

This role will be required to stay apprised of People Risks from a global regulatory oversight perspective and will play a critical part in  ensuring appropriate escalation and visibility of applicable internal and external risk events, emerging risks and risk trends to senior leadership including the HR OC, the CHRO, Group Risk Management, and Enterprise Compliance in support of informed decision making.

Key Responsibilities
 
People Risk Reporting Framework – Development & Methodology

  • Design, establish and implement an enterprise-wide People Risk reporting framework, in support of RBC’s People Risk profile.
  • Develop standardized risk reporting templates and dashboards that will align with both the Operational Risk Management Framework and the Functions Compliance Oversight program (FCOP) standard.
  • Develop methodologies for consolidating and aggregating risk data from multiple sources into actionable insights to support consistency in the application of risk ratings.
  • Provide guidance on structuring and interpreting risk data to enable consistent and effective storytelling, providing clear and actionable insights through the risk reporting. 


People Risk Reporting – Execution

  • Prepare quarterly People Risk Profile reporting submissions in support of the Enterprise Operational Risk Report 
  • Support with reporting requests from regional Boards and Committees 
  • Deliver data-driven insights and trend analysis to assist in conducting thematic reviews and identify emerging risks.
  • Ensure reporting consistency, accuracy, and timeliness with appropriate commentary to enable meaningful risk discussions. 

 
Development of Risk Appetite for People Risk - Key Indicators (KRIs/KPIs) 

  • Play a leading role in the development of risk appetite framework for People Risk including the establishment of related risk appetite metrics and thresholds to enable effective monitoring of People Risk and to ensure breaches are escalated.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and collaborate with 1st and 2nd LoD stakeholders in the development of key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) in support of People Risk and FCOP monitoring.
  • Monitor metric performance and recommend adjustments to maintain an accurate risk profile.

     
Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with HR Centre of Expertise (COE’s); HR Business Partners; Talent Partners and Talent Data Management Analytics (TMDA) teams, as well as Enterprise Risk Management teams, and business partners to understand evolving risk needs and requirements.
  • Promote a risk while providing effective oversight & challenge to our 1st LoD partners, ensuring risk exposures are being identified and issues escalated as required.  

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:

  • At least 5+ years prior work experience in GRM, risk management and/or regulatory compliance with a governance/reporting focus
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Enterprise Risk Frameworks and governance structures, including Operational Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance management programs; tools and practices
  • Proven track record on data reporting, operational risk analytics, or business intelligence within the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated experience in reporting processes, data visualizations, and building executive reporting. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and present complex data in a clear, concise format for executive audiences
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with data analytics tools (e.g. MS Excel, MS Access Tableau, Python, SQL Power BI, VBA,)
