Raytheon is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations Quality to join the Radio Frequency Components team supporting semiconductor manufacturing in Andover, MA. As a leader of the Operations Quality team, the individual in this role will be responsible for leading a group of quality engineers and hardware specialists, monitoring production performance, leading yield improvements and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), supporting factory compliance to site policies and procedures, validating proper change control and implementation, and more.

What You Will Do:

  • Translate, analyze, and prioritize customer, legal, contractual, and internal requirements to develop quality performance standards and operational definitions.
  • Integrate performance and conformance verifications (e.g., First Article inspections and audits) throughout value-stream processes to prevent escapes, improve throughput, and support on-time delivery.
  • Analyze nonconformities, classify causes, and support development of containment and corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate corrective actions, closed-loop process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage quality interface and product sell-off to downstream operations or customer quality representatives.
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze product and process performance, identify variances, and support root cause analysis.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree ( B.S. in Engineering, Science, Tech, or Mathematics) or additional 2 years of Quality Roles experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college Eight years (8) related Quality Engineering, or related engineering experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
  • Experience identifying root cause and implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
  • Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
  • Experience with descriptive statistics and statistical control methodologies, understanding drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control, and manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Experience developing and implementing robust process controls

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Six Sigma or ASQ certifications.
  • Knowledge of process characteristics and process control techniques in one or more Special Processes (e.g., Additive Manufacturing, Anodizing, Bonding/Adhesives, Brazing, Coating, Crimping, Heat Treating, Painting, Plating, PCB Fabrication, Sealing, Sintering, Soldering, Torque, Welding).
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to support interaction with various organizational levels and customers.
  • Ability to apply decision-making skills and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Ability to translate internal and external requirements into effective work instructions.
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Regression Analysis, Measurement System Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Requirements Management Practices.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional continuous improvement activities (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
