Senior Manager of Managed File Transfer

About your role:
As a Senior Manager of Managed File Transfer (MFT), you will be responsible for leading the enterprise file-transmission platforms including IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG), IBM Connect:Direct (CD), and Progress MOVEit. You will oversee architecture, engineering, operations, compliance, and provide team leadership for mission-critical B2B/B2C file transfers across the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and day-to-day operations for enterprise managed file transfer platforms, including Sterling File Gateway, Connect:Direct, and MOVEit
  • Design and maintain secure, highly available, and resilient file transmission architectures that support high‑volume, mission‑critical data exchange
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for building, supporting, and troubleshooting inbound and outbound file transmissions across the enterprise
  • Ensure encryption, authentication, and data‑in‑transit controls meet security, risk, and compliance requirements
  • Oversee platform upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation while minimizing business impact
  • Drive operational excellence by improving reliability, throughput, SLA performance, and incident reduction, and manage 24x7 operations and critical production issues
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, and client‑facing teams to onboard new file flows and support testing and go‑live activities
  • Ensure disaster recovery readiness and support DR testing for file transmission platforms and services

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 10+ years in MFT technologies with deep expertise in IBM Sterling File Gateway, Connect:Direct, and Progress MOVEit Transfer/Automation
  • 5+ years of experience with technologies such as SSH/SFTP, AS2, NDM, FTPS, HTTPS, Certificates, Keys, and network load balancing and clustering
  • 5+ years of experience integrating with Mainframe z/OS, Cloud Storage, and internal apps
  • 3+ years of management experience in a managed file transfer environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Industry certifications such as IBM Sterling (SFG/B2Bi/Connect:Direct), MOVEit, AWS/Azure Cloud, ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Prior experience with cybersecurity controls and compliance audits

  • This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
  • This role requires flexibility to work overtime that includes weekends and holidays
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment

Travel:

  • Approximately 15% of travel to off-site or other office locations is expected

Salary Range

$109,000.00 - $182,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
