Senior Manager, National Video/Broadcast

Job Description:

dentsu is seeking a Senior Manager, Video Investment to lead day-to-day media investment operations, client management, and team development across video and digital channels. This role is highly visible and hands-on, requiring strong strategic thinking, operational rigor, and the ability to lead both clients and internal teams through complex, fast-paced workflows.

The Senior Manager will play a critical role in upfront planning, investment execution, post-buy stewardship, measurement, and team leadership—ensuring best-in-class delivery and partnership across dentsu and our media partners.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients and planners, ensuring clear, proactive communication
  • Present materials, insights, and recommendations directly to clients
  • Manage escalated buyer, assistant, and client situations with professionalism and urgency
  • Oversee client requests and ensure seamless coordination across cross-functional dentsu teams
  • Manage client needs related to creative rotation changes, creative issues, and cherry-picking scenarios
  • Develop POVs and lead competitive intelligence to support client strategy

Strategic Planning & Investment Management

  • Update internal and external documents with accuracy and clarity
  • Partner with Director on upfront scenario planning and budget allocation
  • Drive test-and-learn initiatives to inform optimization and future planning

Operational Excellence & Quality Control

  • Own timelines, deliverables, and tracking
  • Ensure deliverables are resolved accurately and in a timely manner
  • Double-check media orders, CPMs, demos, post documents, and post-campaign packages
  • Oversee weekly digital reporting and ensure alignment with goals, trackers, and owned deliverables
  • Lead audit efforts and ensure compliance with dentsu standards and client requirements

Measurement, Reporting & Tools

  • Lead the completion and execution of measurement deliverables
  • Ensure alignment between media orders, owned reporting, goals, and trackers

People Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop Associates and Senior Associates
  • Lead training and development initiatives, including Associate and Senior Associate DNA projects
  • Provide quality control across leadership and client-facing deliverables
  • Support team members with complex or difficult operational challenges

Qualifications

  • 6–8+ years of experience in media investment, video planning/buying, or media operations
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and presenting to stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of video, digital media, ad serving, and measurement
  • Experience working with buying programs (DDS/Media Ocean), trackers, and reporting platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop junior team members
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Employees who live within a commutable distance of one of our hub offices, currently located in Chicago, metro Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City, are required and expected to work from the office three days per week (two days per week for employees based in Los Angeles and Detroit). Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs. Regardless of your work location, we expect our employees to be flexible to meet the needs of our Company and clients, which may include attendance in an office.

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,400. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
