Job Purpose

This role provides the opportunity to lead and manage supplier relationships delivering global HR and Learning services, while overseeing and supporting end-to-end procure, purchasing and commercial processes within the HR & Learning domain.

The role is accountable for collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, customers, and vendors to define and execute the end-to-end strategy, governance, and performance management of third-party learning partners. It ensures that externally sourced learning solutions consistently deliver measurable business value, regulatory and compliance adherence, cost efficiency, and positive learner outcomes, while enabling the organization’s global learning strategy and digital transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global Third-Party Services team, with accountability for capacity planning, performance management, capability development, and succession planning, ensuring consistent delivery of services across regions.

  • Define and execute the third-party L&D and HR sourcing and governance strategy, with ownership for governance decisions related to vendor onboarding, renewals, performance remediation, and exit recommendations, in partnership with COE and Procurement.

  • Establish governance frameworks covering vendor onboarding, renewals, risk assessments, and exit strategies.

  • Support, Participate and Lead on projects ranging from leading after action reviews (AARs) to implementing process improvement efforts across Third Parties within HR & Learning Services.

  • Take ownership for ensuring the customers’ experience of requesting learning & HR services is a positive one. This will involve collaborating with teams in Learning, HR Operations and third-party suppliers to ensure that global standards are adhered to and processes are delivered in an efficient and consistent way.

  • Partner with Procurement, Legal, IT Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure full adherence to TPRM and internal policies.

  • Act as the primary decision-making escalation point for vendor risk, compliance, and performance issues, including approving remediation plans and recommending contract termination or scope changes where required.

  • Own strategic relationships with content providers, digital learning platforms, facilitators, and learning service vendors.

  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, scope changes, and commercials in collaboration with Procurement, with accountability for commercial recommendations and final sign-off within delegated authority levels.

  • Lead regular business reviews (QBRs/MBRs) with suppliers, with authority to set performance expectations, agree corrective actions, and trigger formal governance or escalation processes where outcomes are not met.

  • Assess potential risks related to vendor performance, compliance, data security, and other factors, and develop strategies to manage and mitigate these risks.

  • Ensure vendor relationships comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure that contracts and agreements meet legal standards and industry regulations.

  • Partner with the Data & Analytics team to identify and implement areas of improvement to reporting operations and data processes and ensure efficient operations with the offshore service teams.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across HR, Business, and People Services.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure seamless delivery of learning & HR services globally.

Skills & Experience required:

  • 12 to 15+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Learning Operations, or HR Shared Services, with significant focus on third-party management.

  • Experience leading teams (minimum 3-4 years) and projects, including cross-functional initiatives and transformation efforts.

  • Experience in regulated or matrixed organizations preferred.

  • Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills.

  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality at all levels.

  • Proven planning and organizational skills and able to multi-task and problem solve.

  • Able to prioritize multiple projects whilst ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • Proven experience managing global vendors and complex stakeholder environments.

  • Experience of influencing customers, stakeholders.

  • Experience of working with external service providers/contractors is strongly preferred.

  • Advanced IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Experience of AAR’s and subsequent implementation.
