Market Operations is a Global team of 400+ Operations Professionals who support our Global Markets, Commodities / Carbon, Structured Trade, Treasury and Coverage businesses globally. Functions performed are trade confirmation / affirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and client data capture/maintenance, corporate actions (the front to back trade lifecycle) across FX, Fixed Income, Rates, Commodities, Carbon, Structured Trade. Derivatives and Loans.
Market Operations also provides Middle and Back Office services including Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting, Client Reference Data maintenance, Client Onboarding, KYC Refresh, Account Origination, Client Case Management, Estate Management, International Loan Administration & Operations, Trade Support, Confirmation services and Settlements / Payments.
Picture yourself in the team:
The Global Market Operations team covers Middle and Back Office functions across Settlements and Cash Management, Lifecycle Management and Pre-Trade Operations.
- Settlements: Oversee timely settlement and cash management of Fixed Income transactions, including International Bonds settling through Clearstream and UK Gilts settling through Crest and confirmation, settlement and reconciliation of FX and Money Market products. Systems used for both products include Wallstreet and Murex.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage Collateral, Margin Maintenance and Derivative Confirmations Matching.
- Pre-Trade Onboarding (does not involve KYC): Maintain Client, Instrument and Regulatory data, Transaction Reporting and Market Data Valuation.
The scope of this role does not include the Commodities and Carbon, Trade and Loan Operations.

As the Senior Manager of Global Markets Operations, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive managerial oversight, leadership and accountability for your teams. Your role will involve supporting both our senior internal and external stakeholders effectively. You will be expected to demonstrate exemplary leadership and oversight for day-to-day operations and actively contribute to the broader development and strategic initiatives of Operations and the wider London and New York Branches. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of operations in a collaborative, supportive environment.
You will be leading a team of 25 people (2 Managers, 23 Senior Associates / Associates) based in London and will report to the Head of WHEM Operations, who is also based in London. You will be a member of the WHEM Leadership Team and participate in the wider Global Market Operations Extended Leadership forums which take place.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The role requires day-to-day leadership of the Global Markets Operations teams, with a span of control across different CBA locations (Including London, New York, Amsterdam and Sydney), fostering an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. This involves coordinating a "follow the sun" process, ensuring seamless operations across time zones. Global Market Operations includes Lifecycle Management, Pre-Trade Operations and Fixed Income Settlements plus a newly created set up of FX Settlements (3 FTE).
- Being the main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will need to support colleagues and peers across several functions, including sales channels and trade sales specialists. Our internal stakeholders are either the Business Desk Heads or part of the Senior Management Regime and Branch Leadership teams. We require a leader who can collaborate effectively with different teams to achieve common goals.
- Leading operational initiatives to support business growth requires an initiative-taking leader who can identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects to completion.
- Delivering accurate and relevant management information back to stakeholders across the Group. Requiring a leader who can analyse data and provide insights that inform decision-making.
- Complying with bank policies, controls, and frameworks, and reporting any issues affecting the team, underscores the need for a leader who is diligent, ethical, and committed to minimizing risk.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams, with strong influence and stakeholder management skills to drive initiatives forward.
- Skilled in conveying expectations clearly and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure priorities stay on track.
- Deep knowledge of Fixed Income and FX operations, including Front-to-Back processes for settlements, payments, reconciliations, and derivative confirmations.
- Experience in collateral and margin maintenance, dispute management, market volatility, and pre-trade static data onboarding, with industry body engagement.
- Proven background in AML, KYC, and sanctions risk management, with experience as a Control Owner and proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to anticipate and resolve cross-functional issues impacting stakeholders or risk profiles, ensuring smooth execution and operational integrity.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Degree in Business or Finance is preferred.
- Experience in utilizing industry-wide systems such as Murex, Wallstreet, Swift, Intellimatch are beneficial.
