JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Manager, FP&A monitors and measures performance, forecasts, plans and provides business analysis with a heavy focus on driving cost reduction. This individual is responsible for improving our current capability / modeling as well as working across a dynamic organization to support business partners. The Sr. Manager will need to be agile and willing to create the new and different.
How you will Own it:
- Manages annual planning and weekly/monthly forecasting while partnering with Shared Services groups, including but not limited to IT, Digital, Marketing, etc.
- Communicates financial and non-financial data to executive officers, department heads, and other members of senior leadership, translating insights into clear, actionable themes
- Proactively gains a deep understanding of department operations and cost structure, addressing issues timely while providing innovative solutions to help achieve established goals
- Analyzes profit-and-loss income statements to support close process and effectively communicates results to management through analysis of monthly financial variances
- Challenges prior assumptions to improve forecast accuracy and builds best practices to support overall business objectives
- Develops business cases for company-wide initiatives by creating robust financial models, tied to a program’s strategic narrative; identifying risks to the organization while tracking key measures of success
- Establishes annual goals, work and outcomes to meet those goals, usually measuring progress and making course corrections on a monthly to quarterly basis
- There are currently no direct reports, management is of a strategic nature and must include significant organizational reach
What you will Bring:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics (or related field of study) required
- 5-7 years of FP&A experience or related Finance/Accounting discipline, preferably with a public company
- 3 years of experience with financial forecasting and analytical modeling
- Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required and experience with ERM/ERP systems (Oracle, Smart View, Workday, Adaptive, etc.) is preferred
- High degree of curiosity and creative problem solving is required
- Self-starter with proven abilities to effectively engage and influence senior executives and cross-functional partner organizations
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
