What you'll do:

As Vice President - Treasury and Asset Liability Management, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial stability of the Hong Kong branch by securing liquidity across multiple currencies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close monitoring of balance sheets, precise pricing calculations, and rigorous risk management. You will collaborate extensively with global colleagues to shape effective ALM strategies while supporting local business initiatives through cooperative efforts with various departments. Mentoring junior team members will be central to your role, helping build a knowledgeable workforce equipped for future challenges. By continuously seeking ways to enhance operational efficiency and ensuring unwavering compliance with all regulatory frameworks, you will help drive sustainable success for the organisation.

  • Secure sufficient liquidity for HKD, CNH, and G10 currencies by managing the local balance sheet in strict compliance with all internal policies and external regulations.
  • Quote fair internal Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), including accurate calculation methodologies that align with organisational standards.
  • Oversee the daily Hibor submission process, ensuring full adherence to guidelines and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Manage all risks associated with ALM activities such as Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), Delta, Value at Risk (VaR), and other relevant metrics within established internal limits.
  • Collaborate closely with other global Treasury offices to contribute meaningfully to global ALM management strategies and objectives.
  • Develop varied funding and risk strategies aimed at achieving set profit targets while maintaining prudent risk controls.
  • Work cooperatively with branch management and other business lines to actively promote local business growth and integration.
  • Educate, mentor, and support junior staff members within the Treasury team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise efficiency within treasury processes by reviewing workflows and implementing best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant bank policies as well as local regulations such as LMR/CFR, taking responsibility for ad hoc tasks as directed by senior management.

  • 7-10 years experience in Asset Liability Management (ALM) and treasury market operations within a banking environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications that demonstrate your academic foundation in finance or related disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of interbank markets, local regulatory requirements, and liquidity risk management principles.
  • Fluency in English coupled with excellent verbal communication skills that enable clear information sharing across teams.
  • Proficiency in treasury dealing systems such as FXAT, Pyramid is highly desirable; familiarity with Excel, VBA, Python would be advantageous for process optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively under pressure while maintaining a tidy and orderly working style that supports accuracy and reliability.
  • Some supervisory experience or Japanese language skills would be considered beneficial for broader team engagement.
