As the Sr. Manager, Engine Control Systems (ECS) NPI Electronic Product Line, you will be the focal point for all aspects of an NPI program related to operations, support of planning, SAP driven activities, manufacture and delivery of hardware requirements for the assigned program(s) from development/lab configuration into production configuration and rate.  The ECS Electronic Product Line portfolio consists of Full Authority Digital Engine Controls, Prognostic/Diagnostic Health Units, and Auxiliary Power Unit Controls.  These components support large commercial, small commercial and military engines and their associated customers. 

In this role, you will be asked to support the product line strategy, new business proposals, new product introduction, operations (at both our Phoenix and Puerto Rico sites) and aftermarket, including compliance with the relevant RTX Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM) policies and procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the introduction of new products into the value stream throughout the Design & Development phases in conjunction with the customer value streams, engineering, operations and the functional groups
  • Serve as the primary liaison between ECS Program Management, Digital Controls Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain organizations to meet all development program deliverables while creating and maintaining working relationships with internal customers and functional leadership
  • Planning, communication and coordination of NPI manufacturing planning and hardware schedule milestones
  • Coordinate the Product Line Strategy IPT and ensure NPI programs are executing to that strategy for design, development and operations
  • Support IPD team between Gate A and D of the product development life cycle
  • Identify risks to schedule and interface with cross-functional teams to develop appropriate mitigation and resolution
  • Perform analyses and develop recommendations to facilitate continuous improvement efforts within the NPI program
  • Support project engineering to maintain and communicate configuration control / flow into operations and tie to customer HW delivery requirements
  • Support ensuring drawing release plans in place and identifying long lead material needs
  • Support Project Engineering with ensuring capital/tooling planning is in place
  • Support project engineering with managing the build of development or production
  • Develop LOB’s for Hardware deliveries in support of senior level presentations and communication
  • Compare SAP requirements to ensure hardware builds are being driven properly
  • Utilize CORE to implement industry best practices
  • Provide customer proposal input and support, including generation of relevant RLPM plans and gate packages
  • Evaluate engineering Schedules and Bases of Estimates
  • Support DTC efforts to generate development and production Total Manufacturing Costs
  • Evaluate operations capacity to support development program EIS
  • Identify, evaluate and implement product cost reduction initiatives
  • Support supplier rate-readiness activities for new and growing programs
  • Interface with Supply Chain Management (SCM) / Planning to identify, expedite and minimize future part shortages
  • Track product yields and perform root cause and corrective action to improve yields
  • Develop Buffer Strategies to maximize delivery results on Smartline transitions
  • Organize and support product reviews and team meetings
  • Prepare and present weekly program metrics.
  • Support the Customer Program Management teams in ensuring customer satisfaction through strong communication and concise presentation material
  • Travel 20% annually

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Travel 20%

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
