Position Overview
This role reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as a member of the Foundation’s leadership team, functioning as the Foundation’s Chief Technology Officer. The position provides strategic and operational oversight for technology systems that support the Foundation’s mission, governance, and service delivery.
Role Overview
CAF is seeking a Senior Manager to own and steward the Foundation’s digital platforms and technology ecosystem. This role will serve as the long‑term internal owner of CAF’s technology assets, bridging technical depth with strong business intuition to guide CAF through implementation, ongoing operations, and future modernization. This is a hands‑on, technically grounded leadership role, ideal for someone with deep SaaS/platform experience who is ready to operate at a strategic level while staying close to the technology. The role will play a critical part in ensuring CAF keeps pace with modern technology trends, including automation and AI‑assisted capabilities, without becoming vendor‑dependent.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Product Ownership
Serve as the primary platform owner for CAF’s core systems (including CRM, case management, and workflow platforms such as Salesforce)
Own the post‑Discovery technology roadmap, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to CAF’s mission
Translate evolving business needs into sound technical and architectural decisions
Digital Modernization & Future Readiness
Lead CAF’s progression toward modern digital practices, including automation, data quality improvements, and responsible AI adoption
Evaluate emerging technologies and capabilities relevant to nonprofit operations and service delivery
Ensure CAF remains aligned with industry best practices as technology continues to evolve rapidly
Vendor & Partner Leadership
Act as CAF’s primary technical counterpart to implementation and advisory partners
Guide vendors rather than being led by them — setting clear expectations, priorities, and architectural guardrails
Ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, and long‑term operability are built into all engagements
Techno‑Functional Leadership
Partner closely with CAF leadership and functional teams to ensure technology solutions support real‑world workflows
Balance technical rigor with pragmatic business decision‑making
Help institutionalize functional and technical knowledge gained during Discovery and implementation
Governance, Risk & Data Stewardship
Establish lightweight governance around platform changes, enhancements, and data usage
Promote strong data quality, security, and privacy practices appropriate for a global nonprofit organization
Provide clear technical judgment on tradeoffs, risks, and long‑term implications of platform decisions
Required Qualifications
10–15+ years of experience in technology, digital platforms, or enterprise systems roles
Strong hands‑on technical background (e.g., platform lead, solution architect, senior systems leader)
Demonstrated experience owning SaaS platforms end‑to‑end (Salesforce or comparable ecosystems)
Experience modernizing, stabilizing, or scaling complex technology environments
Ability to operate with autonomy, sound judgment, and cross‑functional influence
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to AI‑assisted platforms, automation, or advanced analytics
Experience working in or with nonprofit, mission‑driven, or values‑based organizations
Strong interest in social impact and mission‑oriented work
