Job Summary:
Ruggable is seeking a highly analytical, global-minded, and high-velocity Senior Manager, Digital Content Strategy & Experience to architect Ruggable’s end-to-end digital content ecosystem. Reporting directly to the VP of eCommerce, you will serve as the primary authority on on-site storytelling, SEO/GEO discoverability, and digital architecture.
Success in this role means transforming Ruggable’s digital presence into a high-performing content machine by establishing the North American (NA) "blueprint"—from high-converting PLP hierarchies and "net new" content libraries to technical metadata standards—and ensuring its seamless adoption across our AU and EU markets. You are a power user of Contentful and Shopify, possessing the strategic agility to lead a team of Content Specialists in turning brand voice and international consistency into measurable revenue drivers and global growth.
What You'll Do:
Global Content Architecture & Strategy
- International Governance: Architect a sound digital content strategy in North America that serves as the "source of truth" for international teams, ensuring AU and EU markets follow the NA structure for site hierarchy and landing page libraries
- The "Net New" Content Engine: Spearhead the creation of new content categories and formats that solve unmet consumer needs and drive brand authority
- Technical Content Operations: Serve as the "Super User" for Contentful (Headless CMS) and Shopify, building repeatable, automated workflows that allow the content team to launch complex campaigns and page updates flawlessly across global storefronts
- PLP & Navigation Hierarchy: Own the strategic organization of Product Listing Pages (PLPs) and the site’s navigational architecture. You are responsible for the logic behind collection hierarchies, vanity URLs, and breadcrumb structures to ensure a seamless UX and peak crawlability for search engines
High-Performance PDP & SEO Strategy
- Global SEO Structure: Architect a clear framework for metadata, meta fields, and title tags. Lead the strategy for site-wide alt-text leveraging to maximize visibility in traditional and AI-driven search (GEO)
- Advanced PDP Evolution: Drive Product Detail Page (PDP) copy to new levels of detail and consumer relevance, ensuring copy is keyword-rich, "romanced" for the brand, and data-backed
- Image SEO & Accessibility: Lead the strategy for site-wide alt-text leveraging. You will ensure every image across the domain serves a dual purpose: improving accessibility and maximizing visibility in traditional and AI-driven search (GEO)
- Search-First Editorial: Own the roadmap for the Ruggable blog, bridging the gap between storytelling and commercial conversion
Service, Trust, and Site Health
- Help Center & FAQ Strategy: Own the architecture and publishing for the Help Center and FAQs. You will treat "service content" as a conversion tool, preemptively solving friction points to drive confidence and reduce CS tickets
- Policy & Legalese Stewardship: Manage the lifecycle of all site "legalese," including Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, and Warranty content, ensuring updates are brand-consistent and technically accurate
- Content Pruning & Governance: Implement a rigorous "clean site" policy. You will audit the content library regularly, identifying pages to refresh or "prune" to maintain peak domain authority and site speed
Testing, Personalization & Insights
- Experimentation & Personalization: Partner with the Analytics team to lead on-site A/B testing and personalization initiatives using Optimizely and Ninetailed
- Performance Narratives: Translate complex content metrics into clear "so-what" narratives for the VP of eCommerce, demonstrating how content optimizations (like alt-text or PDP refreshes) correlate with revenue lift
What You’ll Need to Have:
Required:
- 8+ years in Digital Content Strategy or E-commerce, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity within a high-growth DTC environment
- Platform Mastery: Deep, hands-on experience in Contentful, Shopify, SEMRush, GSC, GMC, and GA4
- Technical SEO Expertise: Deep understanding of on-page SEO structures, schema markup, and metadata governance.
- AI & Search Evolution (GEO/AEO): Proven track record of adapting content strategies for Generative Engin Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). You must understand how to structure content to be parsed by LLMs and AI-search agents to maintain brand authority in a post-traditional search landscape
- Metric Fluency: Ability to synthesize data from SEMRush, GSC, Profound, and GA4 to drive content decisions
- Project Management & Tooling Architecture: Expert-level proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional workflows You must demonstrate "power-user" depth in Jira/Confluence, Asana, and Airtable
- International POV: Proven experience building digital strategies across multiple countries (specifically NA to AU/EU synchronization)
- Communication & Synthesis: Ability to distill complex, multi-variate analyses into simple, digestible, and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to argue for strategy based on data in front of Executive leadership
- Strategic Intuition: A unique blend of technical "horsepower" and business "gut"—you know when the data is telling a story and when it needs deeper interrogation
Preferred:
- Growth Mindset: A proactive problem solver who is obsessed with the technical details of site "perfection"
- Performance-Driven Content Logic: Deep understanding of how digital content health (e.g., organic traffic value, content-assisted conversion, and bounce rate reduction) impacts the broader P&L
- E-commerce Metric Synthesis: Understanding how site architecture and PDP storytelling directly influence Average Order Value (AOV) and Conversion Rate (CVR)
- Business Impact Modeling: Ability to forecast the financial "lift" of technical SEO improvements and content pruning in terms of captured organic revenue vs. paid dependency
Compensation:
- $130,000 - $150,000 per year base salary
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
- Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
