What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Director, Senior Director, Pricing & Portfolio Optimization, the Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Process Automation will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data engineering and automation solutions to support Pricing & Portfolio Optimization within Personal & Business Banking. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with deep technical expertise, proven project management skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence through innovation.

How you’ll succeed

  • Strategic leadership - Develop and execute data engineering and process automation strategies that align with Pricing & Portfolio Optimization objectives and broader business goals. Champion the adoption of innovative technologies to drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

  • Technical leadership - Oversee the design, development, and implementation of robust data platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automated workflows for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and deployment. Ensure all data engineering and automation solutions comply with regulatory and enterprise governance requirements. Establish and communicate best practices for scalable, reliable, and audit-ready data processes across the organization.

  • Project management - Lead end-to-end project delivery for data engineering and automation initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Stakeholder management & collaboration - Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Partner with compliance, risk, and governance teams to ensure all solutions adhere to regulatory standards. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding data engineering and process automation delivery.

  • Performance measurement - Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data engineering and automation projects. Provide regular updates and actionable insights to senior leadership.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 5 to 8years of work experience in data engineering, process automation, project delivery, and/or service design within banking or financial services. It’s an asset if you have experience in pricing, portfolio optimization, or related areas.

  • You can demonstrate 5 to 8years of work experience and deep knowledge of data platforms, cloud-native architectures (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Kubernetes), CI/CD, monitoring, and governance frameworks. Proficiency in SAS and Python is required. Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) is an asset.

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. You have exceptional presentation skills with strong ability to present complex information and insights to senior stakeholders in a clear, impactful manner. You are skilled at building relationships and networks to drive outcomes and align diverse stakeholders.
