What is the opportunity?
- This role will be a team member of the UK, Europe and APAC Cyber Resilience function
- Provides support to help drive cyber resilience in region(s) enabling compliance to regulatory requirements (MAS TRM, UK FCA Handbook, ECB DORA etc).
- Enhance the organisation's ability to prepare for, withstand, and recover from cyber threats and disruptions.
- Analyse and interpret business and security data to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement of the organisation’s cyber resilience.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to foster collaboration on cyber resilience initiatives.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to implement effective security measures and improve resilience against evolving threats.
RBC’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Develop strong relationships with business units to promote cyber resilience as a shared responsibility. Collaborate with IT, risk, compliance, and external stakeholders on security initiatives.
- Analyse and interpret security data to produce actionable insights and dashboards for business decision-making. Identify trends, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for security improvement through data analysis.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cyber resilience leading internal technical alignment with key stakeholders and external engagement with regulatory resilience and cross industry bodies.
- Support the delivery of the cyber resilience framework, principles, practices, and a roadmap to enable alignment with regulatory cyber resilience requirements defined by regulators in region
- Perform thematic analysis and modeling of revenue into products, services, systems and third parties and develop scorecards, with cyber resilience indexes, and action plans
- Work with Adversary Emulation on red team, purple team, and penetration testing exercises.
- Proactively suggest and help to implement improvements to the organisation's cyber resilience strategy.- Contribute to the development of new processes and controls to strengthen security posture.
- Act as a security advisor across business platforms in region, identifying cyber resilience issues and partnering with business leaders to implement solutions.
- Stay informed of the evolving regulatory landscape and emerging operational resilience challenges of the finance sector in UK, Europe and APAC.
- Contribute to the consolidation of key data inputs from disparate teams, enabling a cyber resilience index (App Sec, IT Risk, TI, 3rd Party Risk, Ops Risk, Group Risk, BCP, Corporate Security etc)
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Extensive proven cyber security experience (ideally at a consulting or ‘broad and shallow’ not deep SME level)
- Solid experience in relationship management, threat modelling, and/or security architecture
- Experience in the financial services or other regulated industries, working at the management level
- Business and financial acumen plus operational mindset
- Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships / partnerships, with the ability to partner across a matrix organization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically
- Able to support cyber resilience strategies in region
- Long-term vision for building cyber value with the ability to invest in initiatives with multiple time horizon pay offs
- Strong client focus, relationship building and has “Change/Improvement” mind-set
