Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
We’re seeking a Senior Manager – Customer Transformation to lead a dedicated function of Product Owners and Analysts, championing customer and employee advocacy, and driving scalable Agile ways of working across our Customer and Technology teams. You’ll be at the forefront of transforming our business, transformation initiatives, and building roadmaps that align with Transurban's vision and strategy.
You’ll join a team focused on transforming, who are collaborative, ambitious and people focused. As our Senior Manager – Customer Transformation, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.
About the role
As our Senior Manager – Customer Transformation, you will be accountable for driving Agile ways of working across existing and new squads as we scale Agile delivery capability across Customer and Technology and setting the standard for our future vision. You will also be accountable for a team working on our Transformation program. This pivotal role will lead teams working through all phases of the delivery lifecycle from idea through to deliver enhanced customer and employee experiences
Day-to-day, you will:
Lead and grow a high-performing dedicated function of Product Owners and Analysts, providing regular leadership, mentoring, and coaching to all team members. You will ensure appropriate team structures are in place and aligned with the broader Customer & Technology (C&T) functions, as well as the Transformation program.
Be accountable for bringing the C&T Transformation vision to life, across Customer Retail channels and platforms, with clear linkages to C&T Priorities and committed benefits. This includes developing the vision and purpose for both the function.
Own and embed our scaled Agile ways of working across Customer and Technology, with a specific focus on the Customer Retail Business. You will lead the implementation of best practice Agile methodologies, driving Agile maturity, managing the flow of work, and facilitating aligned cadences and ceremonies like Quarterly Planning and Squad of Squads across the portfolio.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, communicating progress and program health, influencing outcomes, and supporting the Transformation program's objectives. You will also utilise analytics, UX research, and business intelligence tools to evaluate and monitor performance against KPIs, providing insights to inform decisions.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
Product management experience working on mass consumer facing products
Agile delivery experience in a complex and dynamic environment
Leadership and management experience
High level business acumen and experience managing budgets and finances
Excellent communication skills, written (including report writing) and verbal and highly advanced influencing and stakeholder management experience
Experience product development software including Jira and Confluence. Solid familiarity with development methodologies, life cycles, and best practices
If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:
A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year.
16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, and Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well.
Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests.
Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more.
Share offers and insurance benefits.
Social activities, community give-back programs, and paid volunteer days.
We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing, and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration, and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people living with disability.
