Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People:
Supervise and support Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates in the delivery of UK corporate tax services.
Provide coaching, feedback, and technical guidance to team members.
Assist the Director in implementing people development initiatives, including training and performance reviews.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment aligned with Ryan’s values.
Client:
Manage day-to-day client engagements, including tax compliance, reporting, and advisory projects.
Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
Identify and escalate complex technical issues to the Director or Senior Director as appropriate.
Support client relationship development through consistent service delivery and responsiveness.
Value:
Ensure all client deliverables meet regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
Contribute to operational efficiency through effective project management and resource allocation.
Support the implementation of tax technology and process improvements.
Stay informed of UK tax legislation and contribute to internal technical updates and training.
Education and Experience:
ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
Strong experience in UK corporate tax, ideally gained in a mid-tier or Big Four firm.
Proven ability to manage client engagements and lead delivery teams.
Experience in mentoring junior staff and managing client expectations.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with tax compliance and research platforms (e.g., CCH, Onesource, Alphatax).
Experience with CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.
Required Skills:
Solid technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC practices.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to international tax or transfer pricing is beneficial.
Familiarity with tax automation and digital tools.
Interest in contributing to internal training or process improvement initiatives.
