Job Description

What is the opportunity?

An exciting opportunity to join the Human Resources & Brand, Marketing, Communications and Citizenship (BMCC) Corporate Communications team, the Senior Manager, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) + BMCC Communications, will develop and execute internal and external communications activities to support and elevate RBC’s CMO and BMCC teams.

What will you do?

  • Support the development of communication materials for RBC’s CMO, including internal leadership messages, presentations and meetings, employee communications (newsletters, internal memos, town halls, videos, etc.) and external events (conferences, panel discussions, etc.)
  • Support with the development and execution of an executive content strategy to build profile for BMCC and the CMO, including LinkedIn, thought leadership, media and speaking opportunities
  • Develop and execute a strategic approach to the BMCC Conference and town hall meetings, including managing a content and speaker calendar, liaising with internal and external speakers to develop messaging, developing event materials and partnering with Events on logistics
  • Enhance and maintain BMCC channels (Connect community, intranet feed and integrated calendars) and help facilitate the efficient sharing of information across the group
  • Facilitate the planning, development and execution of the BMCC strategy, manage the BMCC Operating Committee view of key strategic priorities each year and support ongoing reporting to track performance
  • Support the BMCC Operating Committee in developing a strategic agenda for meetings and offsites focused on priority projects and initiatives within the group and across the enterprise
  • Partner with stakeholders including HR, Learning teams and engagement committees to build and implement employee engagement programs, including team-wide initiatives, learning and development courses, etc.
  • Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies across BMCC
  • Support tracking/reporting of quarterly KPIs across BMCC
  • Support with communications across Brand and Citizenship portfolios as needed, identifying opportunities, synergies and issues of relevance to the CMO

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years of communications or PR experience
  • Undergrad/post-grad certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, English or related field
  • Strong external and internal communications, event planning and management, and/or media relations experience
  • Excellent writer, editor, speaker and content creator with the ability to craft a compelling story for a variety of audiences/channels
  • Extensive experience providing strategic communications advice to and developing content for senior executives
  • Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously

Nice-to- have

  • Proficiency in Poppulo, PowerPoint and design software
  • Experience using generative AI tools
  • Digital and social media savvy
  • Knowledge of the Banking and Marketing industries
