Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Accounting & Statutory Compliance team in Bangalore. As a key member of the Bangalore Hub, you will collaborate with Site Management, Corporate Controllership, Tax, Payroll, PTP, FBP, Legal, EMEA counterparts, external auditors, and outsourced accounting firms. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, sound business judgment, and excels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with excellent planning, execution, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
Establish and lead annual statutory audit plans with external auditors, managing resources, schedules, and timelines
Ensure the team is equipped with current knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, local GAAP), ESG, and statutory requirements
Coordinate with internal departments (Controllership, Tax, Payroll, PTP, FBP, Legal) on audit queries and financial statement requirements for filings or cash repatriation
Monitor statutory audit and tax return dashboards, ensuring deadlines are met
Ensure reconciliation of local statutory to US GAAP, local financial reports, and tax returns, with accurate entries in SAP
Support month-end financial close with specified timeline
Collaborate with counterparts to drive global process consistency and efficiency
Assist tax accounting and external tax audits or investigations
Remediate weaknesses identified in statutory and tax audits
Lead and support merger & acquisition pre- and post-integration activities
Work with Tax to liquidate and deregister dormant companies
Drive policy, process, and controls improvements to meet accounting standards and statutory compliance
Manage relationships with outsourced accounting support firms
Mentor and motivate team members, supporting career development initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
10–15+ years of finance and accounting experience, including 8+ years in managerial roles
Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or GAAP
Knowledgeable in US GAAP within an international, multi-currency environment
Experience managing country compliance obligations
Qualified CPA, CA, or equivalent
Strategic thinker with strong organizational, team-building, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Self-starter, able to work independently and deliver results
Proven ability to influence, build consensus, and resolve conflicts
Flexibility to support peak periods, including overlap with EMEA/US time zones
Internal or external audit experience preferred
Working experience with ERP systems. SAP experience and strong Excel skills are a plus
