Job Summary: This job opportunity is for an COST ACCOUNTANT, position description T5137P01, within the USPFO of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 5, Excepted Service position. The purpose of this position is to perform review and analysis of the various procedures used in administering and operating the fiscal control systems.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: General Experience: 12 months of on-the-job experience performing basic accounting principles, conducting general business program requirements, and the ability to perform accounting work that includes financial statement and financial related programs Specialized Experience: Do you have at least 24 months of accounting experiences and competencies that provided knowledge of principles and procedure? The candidate must have at least 24 months of accounting experiences and competencies that provided knowledge of principles and procedures. Candidate must have experiences and training that demonstrate the ability to conduct accounting business in accordance with directives and policies. Ability to study and evaluate the existing internal control systems to determine the level of reliability. Skills to determine the appropriate procedures needed to validate system reliability. A candidate must have the competency to obtain sufficient reliable evidence through inspection, observation, inquiries, and confirmation to provide a reasonable basis for an opinion regarding the activity under examination. Financial Management Certification: Employees must obtain the appropriate certification levels for their positions within 24 months after initial assignment; and, employees must maintain the positions' continuous training and education studies, as identified for each certification level, during the defined 24 month period.
