Senior Management Accountant

Permanent Contract

Based in Model Farm Road, Cork.

Hybrid Position, 2-3 Days On-Site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business unit leaders at the Model Farm Road facility to enhance financial understanding and support the preparation of monthly outlooks and forecasts.
  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and investigation of variances to actuals and forecasts.
  • Prepare and deliver management reporting for the site, including Flash commentary, key performance indicators, and financial analysis for site leadership and divisional finance teams.
  • Support the annual budget, rolling forecast cycles, and long-range planning processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to value streams and functional teams, including cost performance, trends, and business drivers.
  • Support standard cost roll activities and the financial evaluation of new and proposed product costs, where required.
  • Drive process improvements within the Finance function to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the timeliness of information provided to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Continuous Improvement team on cross-functional projects, lean initiatives, and process optimisation activities.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Provide financial support to the local team leaders in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests ('CER' )for the facility.  Review such CER’s from a financial and commercial perspective 
  • Participate in internal and external audits and act as a key point of contact with auditors.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date finance process documentation.
  • Actively contribute to Finance team objectives and promote a strong cost-conscious culture across the site.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Fully qualified professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in management accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience in management reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business partnering.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and strong proficiency in MS Excel (Power BI / Oracle experience is an advantage).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
