Role Summary:
Establish, operate, and optimize precision grinding processes (ID/OD, surface, and form grinding) for advanced ceramics to meet demanding dimensional accuracy and surface integrity requirements. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Operations to achieve first‑pass yield, on‑time delivery, and zero defects in a start‑up environment.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of CNC machine programming (Grinding machines preferred, but 5 axis mill or HBM would also be appropriate), with experience of adapting programs on the spot
- Prepare Multi Axis Grinding machine, fixtures, and tooling for precision grinding of ceramics (e.g., alumina, zirconia) using proper wheels; execute dry/wet grinding strategies to control thermal damage and micro‑chipping.
- Interpret engineering drawings; experienced in using micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, optical comparators, profilometers and train machinist to use these approaches.
- Developing standard work to collect inspection data for supporting SPC/capability studies (Cp/Cpk) to maintain stable processes
- Create and supervise standardized work, control plans, and inspection test plans; Organize root‑cause/corrective actions and continuous improvement events.
- Supervise safety requirements are strictly followed such as guards, emergency stops, and work procedures comply with company safe work instructions.
- Work cross‑functionally with Planning, Engineering, and Quality to meet build schedules; support rapid process stabilization typical of a start‑up.
- Perform routine maintenance, escalate equipment issues and support planned preventive maintenance.
Requirements:
- University graduate or above, over 5 years related work experience.
- Skill in Microsoft Office, 3D design, good electrical, mechanical, instrument related knowledge.
- Good teamwork and self-initiatives.
- Proficent in written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Knowledge of Lean and Safety.
