Swiss Life Luxembourg is currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for the Legal Department based in Luxembourg.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will cover a broad range of legal topics, in particular:

Your Role:

  • Provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice to the different departments of Swiss Life Luxembourg, for both Private Wealth and Employee Benefits matters; identify and manage legal and regulatory risks in contracts and operations; ensure compliance with respect to distribution and documentation;
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of sophisticated legal documents, including insurance contracts, distribution agreements and SLAs;
  • Handle complaints and litigations;
  • Participate in internal committees, working groups and decision-making forums, contributing legal expertise to business initiatives;
  • Monitor case law and legal developments, assess their impact, and advise Swiss Life on implementation;
  • Liaise with external parties, including law firms, the authorities and auditors;
  • Draft policies and internal guidelines and organize trainings on legal topics;

Your Profile:

  • Master’s degree in law (mandatory); a Bar admission in an EU country would be appreciated;
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in a regulated environment;
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance products;
  • Excellent communication skills with legal and non-legal stakeholders;
  • Business fluent in French and English (spoken and written); any other language (such as Italian or German) is a real asset;
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to handle high-value, sophisticated topics, with autonomy;
  • Proactive approach, business acumen and strong team player.
