About this role:
This role is responsible for underwriting and portfolio management of credit facilities for large, publicly traded and privately held companies covered by the Franchise Finance team within Commercial Banking. This role offers broad exposure to Mid-Corporate clients with complex needs, including credit, treasury, and other ancillary products & services. The portfolio includes a mix of publicly-traded, sponsor-backed (public and private), and privately held (founder- or family-owned) names.

In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to senior leadership, clients, and credit teams to develop and influence all aspects of credit and relationship strategy and planning for Mid-Corporate relationships
Lead the strategy and resolution of complex and unique challenges across multiple areas, delivering solutions that can be long-term and which require innovation, analytical thinking, coordination of complex activities, and guidance to others
Demonstrate expertise in all levels of underwriting and act as primary lead in Commercial Banking for complex capital structures and credit transactions, including capital markets executions, acquisition finance, bridge underwrites, and other complex transactions; lead transactions engaging directly with senior management, clients, and risk management
Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing decisions in multi-faceted and significant business solutions that can be large-scale and/or cross-functional (e.g., GPL (treasury management))
Engage with Relationship Manager partners at all levels on the day-to-day portfolio and relationship needs of Mid-Corporate clients, and work with partners across the enterprise
Mentor junior team members to provide training, guidance, and feedback to support their development and strengthen team capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience managing complex credit and capital structures, including M&A and/or sponsor-backed transactions within corporate or commercial banking, investment banking, leveraged finance, private credit, private equity, or ratings agencies.
Significant experience with credit documentation and administrative agent duties on syndicated transactions, including term sheets, credit agreements, and intercreditor provisions.
Experience identifying risk, ensuring compliance with processes and credit policy, and structuring covenants and protections.
Knowledge and understanding of other core banking products and services, including treasury management / deposits, rates and FX, and capital markets
Strong analytical skills, with heightened attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis, financial modeling and business writing.
Experience developing and maintaining external and internal partnerships
Experience in adopting and executing change management to enable business growth
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Completion of a formal training program
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
