Senior Key Account Manager - Digital Science and Lab Automation (DSAS)
Location: Switzerland, Austria
Role Summary:
The Digital Science and Lab Automation Business (DSAS) seeks a credible Senior Key Account Manager to lead strategic sales in the life science market, with a focus on pharma and biotech sectors in Switzerland and Austria as primary territories, and the Middle East as secondary.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement strategic/large account plans to achieve growth targets and expand market presence in the designated regions.
- Engage in consultative sales approaches to comprehend customer demands and present personalized solutions using Thermo Fisher Scientific's laboratory automation and digital portfolio.
- Develop and expand connections with important accounts, improving customer allegiance and encouraging enduring partnerships.
- Uncover and pursue new business opportunities within the field of life sciences, with a specific focus on the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DSAS product management, marketing, and technical support as well as Corporate Accounts and other Thermo Fisher teams, to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new technologies.
- Showcase and illustrate DSAS solutions to clients, emphasizing the worth and advantages of offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable deals and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, sales forecast, pipeline status, and account performance to senior management.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven history of innovative and collaborative sales experience within the life science field, concentrating on pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
- Profound knowledge in lab automation and digital solutions, including LIMS and Lab Orchestration.
- Consistent track record of handling large opportunities and achieving sales targets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key interested parties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned regions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a global commercial organization.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards within the life Pharma/Biotech.
- Awareness of the variety of products and solutions provided by Thermo Fisher Scientific.
- Tools: Salesforce, Clari, CPQ, Power BI, Excel, Mindtickle, PPI (Practical Process Improvement) system, MS Teams, AI sales tools.
Working Conditions:
- Remote work with frequent travel (50-75%) to customer sites and regional offices.
- Flexibility to accommodate different time zones and travel schedules.
