Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer (Engineer II) to join our team and contribute to the success of strategic Repo trading initiatives. In this role, you will play a key role by leveraging your strong system knowledge and development skills to manage and deliver work related to the Repo business and the ION ANVIL trading platform.

The ideal candidate brings experience with technical analysis and Java development in the Capital Markets domain and has a proven track record of building and working with cross functional technical and business teams. You are self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, project teams and third-party vendors to solve complex data and system integration problems.
  • Technical and business analysis to determine and document business requirements.
  • Creation of functional testing scripts and automated processes.
  • Maintain and enhance functionality of TD custom components (Java based) used for integrating with the ION Platform and internal systems.
  • Ownership of complex technical testing and upgrades to maintain application currency as needed.
  • Release and Change Management responsibilities including use of automated deployment tools.
  • Provide technical expertise to our Support teams in resolving escalated incidents.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in the Capital Markets domain, with an understanding of its complexities.
  • Proficiency in Java technology stack.
  • Working knowledge of LINUX and commonly used tools and processes.
  • Experience with Oracle and commonly used tools (e.g., Oracle SQL Developer).

Nice to Have

  • Specific Capital Markets experience in the Repo and Secured Lending markets.
  • Experience with ION applications is a plus, specifically Anvil and e-trading solutions.
  • Working knowledge of the ION Platform and ION MKV API.
  • Understanding of the Repo trade lifecycle and industry standard platforms for D2C and D2D trading.
  • Experience with standard industry protocols and formats (e.g., FIX, SOAP, REST, JSON, CSV).
  • Proficiency with messaging frameworks (e.g., MQ, Kafka).
