Job Description:

Senior ITS BIM Specialist

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ITS BIM Specialist to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will lead and support BIM delivery for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects, regularly interface with other departments, provide technical guidance to junior staff, and contribute to the development of BIM standards and training materials. You will be required to design ITS infrastructure (dry utilities) in Civil 3D, conduct clash analysis and conflict resolution with other utilities, and supervise BIM Modelers and BIM Analysts in the team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Utilize effective computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Data Environment (CDE) usage and management for model production.
• Exhibit proficiency in utilizing software packages associated with the building information modeling specialism/discipline.
• Perform dry utilities design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Candidates with wet utilities design background will also be considered, but must also have some experience in dry utilities design.
• Apply advanced modeling principles and techniques to complex assignments.
• Draft special provisions with oversight from senior engineering staff where required.
• Apply engineering principles to modeling assignments and ensure technical accuracy.
• Review models for compliance with project standards, modeling requirements, and quality expectations.
• Communicate effectively with management, engineering, and production staff on both technical and non-technical modeling subjects.
• Interface regularly with other departments on matters relating to work assignments and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Demonstrate very good knowledge and practical use of the Part Builder module in Civil 3D.
• Demonstrate very good knowledge and practical use of Navisworks software for model review and clash detection.
• Demonstrate very good knowledge of Dynamo for automation and scripting of BIM workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and supervise junior modeling staff (BIM Modelers and BIM Analysts).
• Act in an advisory capacity to senior management and production staff on BIM-related work matters.
• Contribute to the development of BIM-related training materials, standards, and best practices.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Diploma in a relevant discipline.
• 10 years of related work experience in BIM modeling, preferably in ITS, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
• Certification from drafting or building information modeling software providers such as Autodesk or Bentley Systems may be required.
• Proficient knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to apply these principles to modeling assignments.
• Proficient in utilizing advanced modeling principles, techniques, and analyses to complete a wide variety of difficult and complex assignments/plans.
• Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of advanced modeling principles and their application.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in dry utilities design using AutoCAD Civil 3D for ITS or similar infrastructure projects.
• Experience performing clash analysis and resolving conflicts with other utilities (e.g., using Navisworks).
• Very good practical experience with Part Builder in Civil 3D.
• Very good practical experience with Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.
• Very good knowledge and use of Dynamo or similar scripting tools for BIM automation.
• Experience supervising BIM Modelers and BIM Analysts and providing performance input.
• Experience acting in an advisory capacity to senior management and production staff on BIM and digital delivery matters.
• Experience contributing to the development of BIM standards, workflows, and training materials.
