What you'll be doing

You will join CIBC's Cybersecurity, Third Party & Resilience (CTPR) Project Management Office and work closely with others to coordinate a portfolio of projects from end-to-end. As a Senior IT Project Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that project control procedures and policies are executed across a wide range of large-scale projects.

How you'll succeed

  • Coordination – You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team. You will support Senior Project Managers and Scrum Masters throughout all phases of the project management lifecycle (both Waterfall and Agile). You will assist to develop, manage, and control schedules by making continuous updates and mitigation decisions, escalating issues when necessary. You will help manage user stories and related Agile tools, and assist team members with updates when required. You have excellent oral and written communication skills. You will create timely meeting minutes and action items. You will manage the proper storage of all project materials and artifacts. You will support the creation of monthly senior leadership presentations and manage distribution lists, keeping the distribution list up to date.

  • Tracking & Reporting – You will track progress of and make recommendations on response plans for issues and risks, resolution plans, and results on action items. You will take ownership of meetings, meeting minutes, and publishing meeting minutes on time, create change requests, and manage change requests and other tracking logs. You process information with a high degree of accuracy.  Occasionally you will support and track your own small-scale projects as the PM lead.

  • Project Financials – You will track and reconcile financials ensuring resolution of anomalies. You will prepare monthly financial variance summaries. You will work closely with the Senior PM to prepare monthly financial forecasts. You will update and reconcile ongoing estimates, making recommendations, and escalating when necessary, working closely with the Senior Project Manager. You have good time management skills

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience managing all facets of a project as a Senior IT Project Coordinator. You have hands-on experience creating project artifacts and supporting Project Managers during the project management lifecycle. You have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project and strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition, you have strong knowledge of project management methodology.
