Roles & responsibilities
Hitachi Rail is recruiting an experienced IT Architect and Cyber Security specialist to join the Automatic Fare Collection team in Cairo. The role involves contributing to the design, development, and deployment of advanced public transport ticketing systems, particularly supporting and optimizing the Transcity product across diverse client infrastructures. The position requires close collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable and innovative AFC solutions. As a senior cybersecurity expert, the candidate will guide both customers and internal teams, ensuring strong cross-functional coordination. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role serves as the main technical point of contact for all IT and cybersecurity matters. The Senior IT / Cyber security responsivities are as follows, he/she must:
- Provides guidance and advice to the design teams
- Collaborates with the engineering team to define the IT solutions and Cyber security solution
- Give guidance and follow the PDA in defining the physical architectures and cyber security solution of Automatic Fare Collection Systems.
- Manage Requirements and Customer needs. Thoroughly review and analyse technical requirements in the contract
- Tractability and Compliance through Polarion to ensure the System Specification met both technical requirements and Business requirements.
- Ensure alignment of system design with customer requirements and standards.
- Optimizes the costs and performance of the infrastructure solution
- Ensures the security and compliance of systems ;
- Design and implement new infrastructure and security solutions integrated into the product roadmap
- Propose and implement technological solutions to deploy the application on any type of infrastructure (private clouds, public clouds, on-premise)
- Propose and implement technological solutions to reduce infrastructure costs (sizing, environments, services, licenses, and tools) and networking costs
Work experience & qualification requirements
- A bachelor's level degree in a computer science – or relevant – field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT solution design and Cyber Security
- Willingness to travel occasionally for coordination meetings in France or other locations.
- Infrastructure Technical knowledge
- Operating Systems: Linux and Windows
- Network: routing, switching, firewall, intrusion detection, reverse proxy, API protection
- Anti-malware/EDR solution, endpoint security
- One PKI solution
- Virtualization, hyper-convergence, containers, Kubernetes and Android, backup and restore
- Authentication protocols (Active Directory, OIDC, Kerberos,..)
- Cyber Security knowledge
- Cyber risk assessment: ISO-27005 or EBIOS-RM
- System hardening solutions (CIS, SCAP)
- Logging and monitoring, SIEM
- Securing CI-CD stack, SCA, SAST, DAST
- International standards (ISO-27001, IEC-62443, OWASP)
- Rail specific standards (CEN TS-50701, IEC-63452)
- Pentesting activities
- Fluent in English. French is a nice to have.
