What you'll be doing

As a Senior IT Cloud Project Manager within CIBC’s Cloud Program Delivery team, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex cloud initiatives, ensuring alignment with CIBC’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Director, Cloud PMO , you will oversee a portfolio of cloud projects from initiation through to completion, providing expert guidance and mentorship to project management resources. Operating in a matrix environment, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across multiple streams including architecture, security, operations, and application teams to drive the successful delivery of cloud solutions. You will be accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of portfolio governance controls and processes specific to cloud program delivery. These governance practices will be fully aligned with the CIBC Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF), ensuring compliance, risk management, and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

How you'll succeed

  • Portfolio Management – Lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of cloud initiatives, providing oversight and direction to project managers and cross-functional teams. Manage overall portfolio budgets, resource allocation, and project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of cloud solutions.

  • Project Management – Define project goals, scope, resource requirements, and cost estimates in alignment with CIBC’s strategic objectives. Develop and maintain comprehensive project management artifacts, including plans, status reports, and risk registers, ensuring adherence to the CIBC Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF) and cloud governance standards.

  • Leadership – Provide coaching and mentorship to project teams and project management resources, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Serve as the primary escalation point for project delivery issues, ensuring timely resolution and support.

  • Collaboration – Partner with sponsors and stakeholders to guide the implementation and sustainment of cloud projects, negotiating deliverables and milestones to maintain alignment and momentum across all streams.

  • Project Delivery – Proactively identify and address risks, issues, or obstacles that may impact project schedules or outcomes. Actively manage project scope, resources, and financials throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring all required project management artifacts are maintained in accordance with enterprise and cloud governance standards.
