A Day in the Life:

Ensuring efficient inventory levels are maintained to meet global demand, you will support customer needs by managing both internal and external relationships. Your day will involve reviewing MRP requisitions, releasing orders to suppliers, and forecasting.

Position Overview:

You will manage inventory to ensure raw materials, WIP, and finished goods are available globally while minimizing excess stock. This involves supplier forecasting, purchase order management, and optimizing inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Planning:

  • Develop and monitor global inventory plans based on forecasts and historical data.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing team to adjust raw material orders.
  • Incorporate promotional activities into inventory planning.
  • Maintain compliance with inventory policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy of MRP and IT systems.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate delivery schedules and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure timely product delivery to meet inventory needs.
  • Coordinate closely with Procurement and Inventory Control teams.
  • Manage day-to-day orders and deliveries.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excesses.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain product quality standards.
  • Provide crucial metrics to Executive Management.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports on inventory status and supplier performance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting with Finance.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Find opportunities for process improvements in inventory management.
  • Implement guidelines to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Accreditation in Supply Chain Management, such as APICS CPIM, is an advantage.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in global inventory management or supply chain in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record to work collaboratively.
  • Effective time management and delivery to deadlines.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Office-based, with occasional travel to other Thermo Fisher Scientific locations.
  • Hybrid working with 4 days in the office.
