Are you ready to drive excellence in auditing?
We are seeking an assertive, organized and energetic Senior Internal Auditor with proven experience in Insurance and Investment audits to join our high-performing team.
The role is responsible for the delivery of the approved Insurance and Investments Portfolio audit assignments within Old Mutual Zimbabwe Group as well, as management requests that may come from to time.
This role supports the Audit Manager responsible for business audits in executing the Insurance and Investments Portfolio Audit Plan and managing stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
Delivery of Services
- Contributing to the development of the portfolio/s audit plan, including updating and maintaining the audit universe and identifying emerging risks
- Executing and delivering the audit plan and management requests timeously
- Contributing towards enhancing awareness of emerging risks for the relevant portfolios
- Ensuring audits are conducted as per the Group Internal Audit (GIA) Methodology and maintaining quality and performance standards at all times
- Delivering impactful audit reports with well-thought-out management actions and due dates
- Facilitating the agreement of audit findings and ratings with relevant stakeholders
- Analyzing root causes of issues identified and recommending improvements to management for strengthening the control environment
- Executing the issues assurance plan and ensuring timely and quality delivery
Customer
- Supporting the Audit Manager in managing stakeholder engagement and relationships across the relevant portfolio/s
Operations
- Overseeing and leading junior auditors and supporting the monthly reporting process by engaging line 1 and line 2
- Complying with IIA Code of Ethics and GIA Policies and Procedures
Qualifications & Professional Affiliations
- An Accounting Degree or relevant Commercial degree in Finance, Risk Management or Business Management.
- Professional qualifications such as full ACCA, CA, CIMA, or CGI.
- CIA qualification is an added advantage.
- Masters in a Business-related degree is an added advantage.

Experience
- At least 3 years relevant internal audit experience preferably in an insurance or Investment environment.
- Proven working experience as a Senior Internal Auditor.
- Proven knowledge of internal auditing standards and professional practices, Code of Conduct rules and regulations.
- Ability to lead an audit assignment from planning, fieldwork through to reporting.
- Experience of client relationship management at senior levels
