The Opportunity 

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Senior Instructional Consultant to join the Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE), supporting the Worldwide Campus. This role contributes to the University’s mission of academic excellence by advancing high-quality teaching, learning, and instructional innovation across all modalities.

The Senior Instructional Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert in pedagogy, online education, instructional technology, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. This position plays a key role in faculty development, instructional quality assurance, data-informed decision-making, and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver faculty training, onboarding, and ongoing professional development programs to enhance instructional excellence.

  • Provide consultation, mentoring, and performance support to faculty across teaching modalities, including course design, delivery, and evaluation.

  • Conduct course reviews, faculty observations, and instructional quality assessments aligned with best practices and institutional standards.

  • Analyze data and assess the impact of RCTLE initiatives, including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder feedback to inform continuous improvement.

  • Lead and contribute to research and scholarship in teaching and learning, instructional design, and educational effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Success, IT, and other university units to support student success and resolve instructional challenges.

  • Serve as a mentor to Instructional Consultants and contribute to team development, coordination, and knowledge sharing.

  • Support initiatives related to digital learning, accessibility, instructional technology, and curriculum enhancement.

  • Participate in professional organizations (e.g., OLC, QM, POD, UPCEA) and represent RCTLE through presentations, research, and engagement.

Compensation 


The annual salary range for this position is $57,260. The final offer will consider the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience, along with applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range. 

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field

Required Experience:

  • 3–5 years of teaching experience in higher education or related instructional environment

  • Experience in faculty development, instructional support, or educational consulting preferred

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and instructional design principles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Experience with data analysis and program evaluation

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive instructional practices

  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and online learning environments

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and support faculty development
