The Senior Human Resources Representative provides comprehensive HR support by managing key processes and delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers and stakeholders. Working closely with the HR Leadership team and HR team members, this position will maintain compliance with university policies, identify opportunities for process improvement, and contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
In coordination with the HR Leadership team, and HR team members, track and process job changes, transfers, reassignments, compensation changes, and other position updates in Workday. Manage, review, reconcile, and follow up on HR and payroll-related reports (e.g., student ineligibility, duplicate assignments, hours worked). Address compliance warnings and ensure alignment with university policies and departmental guidelines. Collaborate with the HR Leadership team, and HR team members, to ensure consistency in reporting practices and data integrity across the department. Serve as a subject matter expert in Workday and other HRIS platforms. Coordinate employee and supervisor communications, including notification letters. Run and disseminate recurring and ad hoc reports.
In coordination with the HR Leadership team, and HR team members, manage recurring employment documentation and ensure timely processing of evaluations, driver certifications, communication device allowances, and other employment documents. Ensure accurate data entry, document uploads, and file storage in compliance with record retention policies. Audit and finalize HR processes using checklists within the ticket system and other HR trackers. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UHD and UT Austin policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information throughout all processes.
Collaborate with the HR Leadership team, HR team members, employees, supervisors, and other UT departments to resolve HR-related issues. Resolve requests received through in office visits, email, tickets, phone calls, and other submissions; providing top-quality service. Provide cross-functional and backup support to HR teammates and leadership to ensure seamless coverage and support during absences, high-volume periods, or special projects.
Manage contractor registration and employee of contractor reassignments. Coordinate emergency closure assignments and flex work arrangements. Assist in the development and presenting of HR-related trainings. Provide backup support and guidance for onboarding processes by collaborating with the HR team to ensure consistency, alignment, and effective use of shared resources.
Schedule and organize meetings, calendars, and office activities using Outlook and SharePoint. Maintain monthly task lists, metrics, and deadlines. Utilize internal software and processes to complete tasks and communicate effectively. Complete special projects and disseminate information as needed. Lead or support recurring and ad hoc HR initiatives contributing to shared goals and department-wide improvements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
5 years of experience in human resource administration, including 3 years of professional-level human resources experience specific to a program or section area.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
6 or more years of experience in human resources administration.
Human resources experience in a university setting.
Experience using Workday.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, projects, meet established timelines, and work efficiently.
$60,000 + depending on qualifications
May work around standard office conditions
Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation
Use of manual dexterity
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM -5:00PM, hours and days may vary based on business needs.
