The position reports to a Group Head: Cross-Platform Customer Growth.

 Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Brand custodian and responsible for creative, art direction and visual positioning of the brand across all mediums.
  • Design of all key customer facing design assets on and off site.
  • Collaborate with the Group Customer & Insights and TakealotMORE teams to understand project requirements and translate insights into creative multimedia solutions that align with campaign goals. 
  • Design and produce a wide range of multimedia assets, including but not limited to videos, animations, infographics, presentations, and digital content, tailored for various platforms, including social media, email marketing, websites, and in-app promotions.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity for the department, ensuring alignment with TakealotMORE, Takealot, Mr D and potential partners’ brand guidelines.
  • Adapt designs and content to meet the specific needs of different customer segments and platforms, to drive the desired campaign objectives.
  • Create engaging content for customer insights reports, dashboards, and presentations to effectively communicate data and findings.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Maintain an organized workflow and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of multimedia content.
  • Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and data teams, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and design.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • A relevant certification in motion graphics, video editing, or animation is a plus.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in multimedia design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of projects.
  • Proven experience in creating multimedia content for data visualization, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, preferably within the e-commerce or technology sector.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of multimedia content and design projects.
  • Proficiency in multimedia design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant software.
  • Strong knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, and animation techniques.
  • Expertise in data visualization and the ability to translate complex data into visually compelling designs.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles.
  • Knowledge of current design trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and digital marketing principles is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
