General Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our newly created Global Business Service (GBS) Centre in Warsaw, Poland. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional whom is motivated to contribute to setting up the regional finance function as BeOne builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting topics across various countries. The incumbent must bring good US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge combined with hands on experience of SAP (4HANA a strong plus). Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required in order to coordinate the activities across multiple geographies and collaborate with colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia.  As a valuable resource to the organization the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment in a hybrid work model.

This role will be responsible for the following duties for our Nordic legal entities with a hybrid work pattern, 3 days per week in our Warsaw office with 2 days remote.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Preparing GL entries in SAP, to record all relevant transactions on a daily basis, and taking ownership of diverse closing activities to ensure all activities listed in our closing checklist are properly and timely recorded in our books
  • Daily input of bank statement entries for designated accounts into SAP, ensuring accurate and timely allocation of cash
  • Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, ensuring appropriate backup in place to support balances and resolve any reconciling or overdue items in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Assist with SOX compliance, internal audit an external audit requests.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll monthly entries and payments
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Miscellaneous projects as they arise.
  • US GAAP and local statutory audit support.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Education Required: Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor’s Degree

Computer Skills:   SAP S/4 Hana, Blackline, Ariba, Excel, Power BI, Concur, Workday, on-line banking

Other Qualifications:   

  • Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor degree with minimum 5 years of Accounting experience
  • Multinational finance environment ideally within the life sciences/pharma industry
  • Experience in transitions of a GL process into a SSC/GBS
  • Willingness to execute daily transactional accounting tasks; desire to work in a fast paced, changing (currently unstructured) environment in a hybrid work model
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP 4 Hana, Blackline)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity, excellent spoken/written English – any other languages a plus
