About This Job

The SVP, C&I Portfolio Management will manage and provide daily oversight of the Fund Finance and Agented Syndications Portfolio Management team – focusing on continuous monitoring of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio. Manage all department functions, including, but not limited to, monitoring process, policy, and concentration limit compliance, oversight and development of mid-level and junior staff, managing loan review process, and curating information for compliance and board reporting. The commercial loan and agented syndications portfolio includes C&I and specialty credits, including but not limited to fund finance, asset-based lending, cash flow leveraged lending, and lender finance.

Responsibilities:

Fund Finance

  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for mid-level and junior portfolio managers, including mentoring, performance management, and professional development
  • Serve as a player/coach while managing and maintaining responsibility for an individual portfolio of loans, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with organizational standards
  • Establish department wide processes and policies, including working with project management and technology teams to implement
  • Manage the engagement and workflow of product level and department audits, including internal and regulatory audits
  • Collaborate with relationship management, underwriting, operations, servicing, and special assets teams to ensure strong client service and loan administration
  • Review and approve or make recommendations for loan reviews and modifications
  • Responsible for monitoring the credit quality of the assigned portfolios with individualized and programmatic management and monitoring, reacting quickly and developing strategies for addressing changes in performance
  • Ensure strong loan file maintenance
  • Monitor payments, collections, payoffs and associated projections
  • Ensure accurate and timely document and covenant tickler monitoring and testing, including use of dashboard reporting
  • Analyze data and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for review
  • Lead a high performing organization by engaging associates, setting expectations, holding teams accountable and recognizing great work

Agented Syndications Team

  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for mid-level and junior portfolio managers, including mentoring, performance management, and professional development
  • Serve as a player/coach while managing and maintaining responsibility for an individual portfolio of loans, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with organizational standards
  • Lead agented syndications portfolio management with Shared National Credit regulatory reporting. 
  • Loan Administration: Disburse loan proceeds to the borrower and allocates funds among lenders
  • Collect and distribute interest, fees, and principal repayments
  • Communication: Serve as the single point of contact for the borrower and lenders.  Disseminate financial statements, compliance certificates, and notices
  • Monitoring & Compliance: Track borrower covenant compliance and notify lenders of breaches
  • Maintain record of loan balances, interest calculations, and payments
  • Operational Duties: Manage amendments, waivers, and consents as per credit agreement. Coordinate voting among lenders for material decisions
  • Fronting Obligations: Advance funds for swinglines or letters of credit before reimbursement by lenders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably master’s degree
  • 10+ years' fund finance, asset-based lending, and cash flow experience
  • Global C&I experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong risk management and regulatory knowledge
