Sustainable Talent is partnering with Nvidia, a global leader in accelerated computing and advanced technologies, to hire a Senior Geospatial Data QA Engineer to support large-scale map data validation initiatives. This is a full-time (W-2) contract role. We offer competitive pay $40/hr - $75/hr based on factors like experience, education, location, etc. and provide full benefits, PTO, and amazing company culture!
This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of structured geospatial and map datasets used in production-level mapping systems. You'll be responsible for defining and implementing map data validation strategies, developing rule-based validation logic, and supporting automated data quality frameworks. The ideal candidate has deep experience working with structured map data, spatial datasets, and GIS-based validation methodologies.
This is not a general software QA role — it is focused specifically on geospatial data quality and map validation at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement map data validation strategies aligned to product and data quality requirements.
- Define and document validation rules for structured geospatial datasets (e.g., road geometry, lane attributes, topology, POIs, routing attributes).
- Integrate validation rules into automated map data validation frameworks.
- Perform structured map data validation using rule-based and programmatic methods.
- Validate spatial accuracy, topology consistency, coordinate integrity, and attribute completeness.
- Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and edge cases across large geospatial datasets.
- Generate data quality metrics, dashboards, and validation reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineering and mapping teams to resolve quality issues.
- Train and support mapping operators in analyzing and interpreting validation results.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in map data validation or geospatial data quality engineering.
- Strong understanding of map data validation standards and spatial data quality methodologies.
- Experience defining and implementing rule-based validation logic.
- Experience working within or contributing to automated data validation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with GIS tools or spatial data technologies (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS, spatial SQL).
- Experience validating structured geospatial datasets such as road networks, topology, spatial geometry, and attribute data.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of spatial data issues.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale production mapping platforms.
- Experience validating road networks, routing logic, or navigation datasets.
- Familiarity with scripting or querying languages used for data validation (e.g., SQL, Python).
- Experience building data quality metrics or reporting frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting mapping operators or data production teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Self-starter who can independently define validation strategies.
- Strong ownership mindset — not just executing test cases, but building quality systems.
- Comfortable working with structured geospatial data at scale.
- Detail-oriented with strong spatial reasoning skills.
