Job Summary
As a Senior Geophysics Application Developer (18308), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and optimize Java-based geophysical applications, including advanced UI components using Swing and Eclipse RCP/SWT for data visualization and interpretation.
- Design and integrate scalable client and cloud-connected solutions leveraging microservices and RESTful APIs on AWS or Azure.
- Lead architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentoring activities to ensure high-quality, high-performance software development within global engineering teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional/ Advanced English skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing applications in Java or C++ in scientific or data-intensive domains.
- Proficiency in geophysical data processing workflows and UI development for technical visualization environments.
- Experience with performance optimization tools such as VisualVM, JMC/JFR, or Async Profiler.
- Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
- Knowledge of scientific computing libraries including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, or TensorFlow.
- Experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA in Java or C++.
- Understanding of 2D/3D graphics programming using Java 2D or OpenGL 3D.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with microservices frameworks like Spring Boot, Quarkus, or AWS API Gateway.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams under Agile/Scrum methodologies.
