The Data Coordinator is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data for a grant program in their specific department. Ensures data is organized, aggregated, and reported to management as required. Manages and maintains various databases used to capture and submit data. Responsible for contacting program participants to evaluate outcomes. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

A Brief Overview
The Data Coordinator is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data for a grant program in their specific department. Ensures data is organized, aggregated, and reported to management as required. Manages and maintains various databases used to capture and submit data. Responsible for contacting program participants to evaluate outcomes. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do
  • Responsible for data collection, entry and management for the program data.
  • Ensures that required data are accurate and submitted in a timely manner and maintains confidentiality of all participant information in all forms and media in which it might appear.
  • Designs and compiles special reports in response to internal and external requests in order to provide accessible data for reliable analysis, management review and/or reporting requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes data for assessing program performance. Provides information for management decision-making.
  • Plans and coordinates assignments so that they are accomplished in coordination with overall team objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer sciences

Work Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years Database management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with database management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and SPSS or Minitab
  • Knowledge with relational databases such as SQL, MS Access, etc.
  • Proficient with standard report writing tools such as Crystal reports and Business objects
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
  • Ability to participate as a team member as well as to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow up appropriately.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects.

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • There are no leads or supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
