About the role

You will thrive here if you like tackling messy problems and turning complex governance processes into simple, intuitive products. You are comfortable partnering with non-technical stakeholders while iterating fast and owning what you ship. You care about code quality and developer experience, can switch between backend and frontend in the same sprint, and you’re eager to learn and apply GenAI solutions. Your impact will be tangible: shorter approval cycles through automated checks and standardized workflows, stronger policy adherence via clear UI guardrails, and better auditability with tamper-evident logs, decision traceability, and self-service reporting.

Join our IT Gating & Governance team to build our governance automation platform. You’ll own features end-to-end—shipping React experiences and Spring Boot microservices that automate intake, assessments, approvals, policy enforcement, and developer self-service across the enterprise.

What you’ll do here:

  • Build and run Spring Boot 3 microservices (Java 17/21) for workflow orchestration, notifications, work-item tracking, and document handling (S3), fronted by an API Gateway.

  • Model governance domains in PostgreSQL with Liquibase; write performant JPA/Hibernate queries.

  • Extend our workflow engine (Spring Integration) and integrate with GitHub Enterprise, Jira, email, scanners, CMDB, etc.

  • Deliver secure services (Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, Azure AD SSO, Vault) with strong auditability.

  • Build modern React SPAs (TypeScript, Vite/Turborepo) with accessible UI (MUI), rich tables/visuals, and clean state/data patterns (Zustand, React Query, GraphQL).

  • Keep quality high with solid testing (JUnit/Vitest/Playwright) and CI/CD to OpenShift/ROSA (Docker, Helm, Jenkins), plus scanning and code gates.

  • Collaborate with security, architecture, data governance, procurement, and infrastructure to turn policy into automated checks. Mentor others and influence platform architecture.

What you bring to the table:

Must-have

  • Minimum 8 years of experience building production software with strong full-stack ownership

  • Deep Java + Spring (Boot 3, Security, Data JPA, Cloud)

  • Strong React + TypeScript experience (modern state/data tooling; MUI or similar)

  • PostgreSQL + schema migrations (Liquibase/Flyway) + Hibernate/JPA

  • REST + OpenAPI; working knowledge of GraphQL

  • Docker + CI/CD + Kubernetes/OpenShift

  • Strong testing discipline (unit/integration/E2E)

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country

Nice-to-have

  • Spring Integration/workflow engines; compliance or policy automation

  • Vault, Azure AD, OAuth2/OIDC depth

  • Monorepos (Turborepo/pnpm), Storybook/MkDocs

  • AWS S3 integration

  • Governance ecosystem integrations (CMDB, scanners, data catalogs, procurement)

  • GenAI/LLM integrations
