We are actively seeking a Senior Foreman to join our Lloydminster Thermal team. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the Senior Foreman will be responsible for supporting, managing, and leading operations at a SAGD facility. The successful candidate will oversee and ensure all activities are performed safely, and in accordance with company policies and standards. Key responsibilities include maintaining budgets, resource allocation, maintaining safe and efficient facility operations, and providing leadership and mentorship to the team.
The Successful Candidate Will:
Ensure compliance with, and commitment to, Strathcona Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices.
Ensure that operating costs are within guidance, or variances are clearly identified and communicated.
Ensure safe, efficient and consistent operation and maintenance of equipment and processes in assigned area.
Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout and emergency response, as well as, ensuring safety KPI targets are achieved.
Work with the environmental group to sustain or implement new operating practices that minimize or eliminate environmental incidents.
Ensure proper management of the planning, coordination and execution of the day-to-day operational activities of the business unit is accomplished.
Determine appropriate personnel, equipment and/or resources needed and deployed to ensure operational requirements are efficiently executed.
Provide overall supervision, guidance, direction, and development of staff. This includes hiring, promotion, coaching, mentorship, training, performance management, and movement of employees within the business unit.
Aid in the development, implementation and overseeing of the annual operating expense budget of their facility. Act as stakeholder within the annual Capital budget program.
Prepare, analyze and report on quantitative data relevant to business unit (budget, revenues, costs).
Provide leadership to the Operations Specialist, Chief Power Engineer and Shift Engineers at the facility.
Qualifications Include:
1st or 2nd Class Power Engineer preferred with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Thermal Operations.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Detailed understanding of TSASK requirements.
Pressure Equipment Integrity System and Pipeline Integrity System training and experience in the implementation of the integrity program.
Extensive working knowledge and experience of people management; budget management, and resource management.
Familiarity with optimization and comprehensive understanding of all SAGD plant and well operations.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage significant workloads.
Work Environment:
9/80 compressed work schedule.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and supporting large teams.
Available to respond to critical issues after hours and on weekends.
Regular travel required.
Office location to be confirmed.
