Senior Financial Analyst

Huntsman is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Functions out of our site in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Sr FP&A Manager, Functions & Corporate.

Job Scope

As Senior Financial Analyst, you will provide high-quality financial planning & analysis support to assigned Functional teams. You will act as a trusted business partner, helping leaders understand financial performance, drive effective decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency.

In summary, as the Senior Financial Analyst, you will:

• Partner with functional teams to gather, validate, and align financial data with business goals
• Monitor actual spend and update forecasts to anticipate future financial needs
• Analyze trends and variances across sub-functions to identify cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and areas needing attention
• Build and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports detailing spend, forecasts, and budget variances by cost category
• Lead annual budget and monthly forecast cycles, ensuring timely and accurate inputs from cross-functional teams
• Ensure financial reports are clear, accurate, and aligned with internal standards and corporate policies
• Identify and resolve gaps in financial systems and processes to ensure smooth operations
• Continuously improve and document financial workflows, data flows, and forecasting tools
• Act as a data and systems steward, collaborating with IT and Finance on data refreshes, access controls, and automation efforts
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and cost allocation principles
• Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations and documentation that demonstrate control and integrity
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives that enhance forecasting and reporting capabilities

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

Candidates must be willing to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our office located in AFZ, Heredia. Additional office days may be required as needed or during corporate visits.

Minimum Qualifications

Education required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field

Experience required

• 4–6+ years of related experience

Skills and knowledge

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and ability to learn multiple systems (examples include IBM Planning Analytics, SAP, SAP HANA, etc.)
• Proven ability in forecasting and financial analysis
• Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with business partners
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a high degree of initiative and organizational skills
• Exhibits a strong sense of ownership with eagerness to learn, continuously improve, and effectively prioritize and manage tasks concurrently
